Abstract

Dancing is a part of human life since ancient years. Ιn Greek folk dance clubs there are groups just for adolescents to participate in. The present research tries a preliminary examination of adolescents’ motives in such groups. 134 participants (boys and girls) completed the “Participation Motives Questionnaire” struc- tured for folk dance groups. The results showed that adolescents participate in such groups for fun and for being members of a group. Knowing the motives for participating in such groups, helps pulling in more adolescents and make them join such kinetic activities.
