Prevention of Injuries in Contact Sports Such as Soccer, Basketball, Water Polo and Team Handball

Abstract

The prevention of injuries is an important issue in planning and management of athletic dangers. The aim of the present work was the review of bibliography that concerns the prevention of injuries in known team contact sports (soccer, basketball, water polo, team handball) and moreover to find the relation between them. The inquire data show that elements as localization of injuries, risk factors and preventive measures relate with the type of each sport. Moreover these specific sports have common points but also differences between them. In particular the factors that determine the prevention have a relation between soccer, basketball and team handball, while water polo because of its features present a special prevention model.
