Future Collaboration with Formula 1 Manufactures?

Assistant Professor Dr G. Giakas and the Dean of our School Prof Y. Koutedakis, as members of an international consortium specialized in human movement and health, recently met the research directors of the McLaren Applied Technologies company (  http://www.mclarenappliedtechnologies.com). This is part of the McLaren Racing Limited, one of the most successful Formula 1 (F1) manufactures, and it is based in Woking, Surrey, England. The aim of this meeting was to explore possibilities of how advanced technologies designed to monitor performance of F1 cars could also be utilised in studies regardingoptimisation of human health and quality of life.
